Greetings Colleagues,

I hope this correspondence finds you well and preparing to enjoy a great summer!

We were privileged to host Dr. Mark Dickens in February. He gave two presentations on the topic Echoes of a Forgotten Past, which chronicled the development of the Church of the East in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. We organized a very well attended presentation to the public, as well as a second presentation at the Academy of Sciences. You may view this presentation on the link below, available in English, Russian, and Kazakh languages. Please feel free to pass these links to your friends and colleagues.

The Kazakhstan Institute of Archeology is currently continuing excavations in Ilyn Balik under the direction of Dr. Karl Baipakov, with a continuation of the necropolis from mid-July through mid-August under Dr. Dima Voyakin. We welcome any others interested in participating in this project.

Additionally we are pleased to have Dr. Anthony Watson coming to Kazakhstan, along with a team of students. Dr. Watson and his team will be assisting in an excavation supervised by Dr. Karl Baipakov in the famous city of Kayaliq later this month. Dr. Anthony Watson obtained his PhD from the University of Cambridge and is a top expert on William of Rubruck, who specifically refers to Kayaliq.

We have other projects forthcoming.

We are here to serve and facilitate!
