We have some exciting news updates for you from the Department of Nestorian Studies.
 
First we are pleased that Drs. Mark Dickens and Steven Ortiz from Tandy Archeological Society are coming to Almaty for Syriac script analysis from the Ilyn Balik excavations of 2016 and 2017, which were graciously co-sponsored by the Eurasian Exploration Society, headed by Dr. Christoph Baumer.

Greetings from a wintery Kazakhstan!

We are very excited about the developments in the Department of Nestorian Studies. I thoroughly enjoyed my doctoral consultations and seminars at the University of Salzburg. This is an excellent university and is positioning itself to be a hub for Eastern Syriac and Church of the East center.

Kevin White furthering his doctoral studies

Kevin White is currently in Salzburg, Austria, where he is attending doctoral seminars and consultations as part of his doctorate. This itinerary will include meeting with several top experts in the field of Nestorian Studies.  Following his time in Austria, Kevin will be visiting England to do some further research in the British Library and Oxford Bodleian Library.  He hopes to establish connections with these libraries which have many resources and documents that relate to Nestorianism and Central Asia.
